Small Groups

Our Sunday experiences are powerful, but we believe in order to reach your full potential in Christ you must connect with Him and others. Our Small Groups provide that opportunity. They are your key to developing connections with those who share your interests or people who are dealing with similar life issues.

The goal of each Small Group is for each person to move from where they are in life to where God wants them to be. With the safety, comfort and protection of each Small Group, you can boldly work through problems and celebrate victories by building strong and lasting relationships. Groups meet once a week in homes, businesses, restaurants, the church, and everywhere in between. To fully experience all that Genesis Church has to offer, experience the impact of a Small Group!

  • women's Prayer study

This group is focused on community and prayer. As women it is so important to have a community of other women who love Jesus around us. Jesus calls us to a life of prayer, both individually and in groups. As daughters of God, we have so much power when we bind together in prayer.

We will begin our study with Priscilla Shire’s book “Fervent,” and will learn how to fight for ourselves, our families, and our homes, through prayer.

       Childcare will be provided.

  • kauffman small group

Digging deep into the Word is our goal for this group, through both teaching and discussion. Gary and Jill Kauffman lead the group, but we anticipate everyone participating in discussions. Each small group night starts with food and fellowship, so there’s no need to rush around trying to grab a bite after work. Our studies dig into the Bible with the goal of deepening and strengthening everyone’s faith and ability to serve.

Gary and Jill have led a small group for three semesters and have attended Genesis for more than three years. They are involved in several areas of ministry at Genesis. They have seven grandchildren they’ll be happy to talk to you about and another on the way!

  • Bergmann Small Group

Steve grew up in a Roman Catholic family near Philadelphia, but most of us walked away from our religion decades ago. Thankfully, after avoiding church for many years, a coworker invited Steve to a non-denominational, Christian church. That experience was life-changing. The idea of worshiping God with music that touched my heart and soul, (not just a senior-citizen ladies choir and a pipe organ) was amazing!

Much more importantly, the service wasn’t a set of rote religious practices, rules, and regulations, sent down from Rome, it was all about Jesus and the Bible. Steve had lost his faith in religion when he felt that the “church” was in conflict with the teachings of Christ. Now he had walked into a church where the all-encompassing focus was the teachings of Christ. Steve’s eyes were opened to what a relationship with Jesus could be, when the excesses of the religion were stripped away.

While Pam and Steve eventually moved to other churches across different states over the years, they’re still awestruck by the simplicity and incredible importance of teaching the Word of God. They want to be part of a fellowship of believers eager to dive in, learn, and share a the Word.
